CREW

Tim Clark
Tim Clark Captain

Captain Tim hails from the Midwest, where he grew up playing sports and sailing on Lake Michigan. His dreams of traveling and living a life at sea were realized when he joined the US Navy as a Rescue Swimmer. After being honorably discharged in 2001, receiving multiple awards and high honors, including the Enlisted Surface Warfare Award, Tim continued to travel and dive around the world. He visited Europe and the Middle East, earning his NAUI Dive Master certification along the way. Tim's love for diving brought him to coastal Texas in 2007, where he became a commercial diver, making a good living working on support vessels and oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. During a Caribbean vacation, Tim discovered his true calling as a boat captain. In the summer of 2023, Tim embarked on the adventure of a lifetime, sailing a new 2023 Fontaine Pajot 67 Alegria across the Atlantic from La Rochelle, France, to St. Thomas, USVI. Along the way, he made stops in Spain, Portugal, the Canary Islands, and Cape Verde. This adventure, shared with his wife and chef, Siboney, was not without its challenges, but as Tim believes, "You cannot learn much in calm seas." He lives by the saying, “You cannot control the wind, but you can adjust your sails.” Tim’s love for people and hosting complements his passion for boats and the ocean. Since securing his USCG 100-Ton Master’s Captain License, Tim and Siboney have hosted friends, family, clients, and celebrities aboard various luxury yachts in the Caribbean and beyond. Tim’s experience and Midwestern hospitality enable him to provide exceptional guest experiences, and his attention to detail is meticulous. He and his wife share the same passion for life, people, and the sea!

Siboney Trevino-Clark
Siboney Trevino-Clark Captain

Chef Siboney (pronounced "Sea-Bo-Ney") was born in Chicago but learned to walk in Texas. Her love of cuisine and nutrition stems from her Mexican and Spanish heritage, as well as her experience as a mother. Just as Siboney delighted in preparing healthy, colorful, and delicious meals for her growing family, she now brings her passion for hosting, entertaining, and creating special memories to her charter guests, using the freshest organic, locally farmed ingredients. Siboney's love for all things culinary is equally matched by her love of the outdoors. She excels in activities ranging from hunting and fishing to paddleboarding, boating, horseback riding, and snorkeling. Siboney’s first introduction to the charter industry came through hosting friends, clients, celebrities, and family alongside her husband, Tim. She loved the lifestyle so much that she convinced Tim to sell everything and move to the Caribbean. In the summer of 2023, Captain Tim and Siboney spent time in Paris, where Siboney took advantage of the city's rich culinary scene, including attending Culinary Arts courses at the world-renowned Le Cordon Bleu. She also spent time in Bordeaux and Champagne, visiting wineries and learning how the right wine pairing can enhance the taste of lamb, tenderloin, and fresh seafood. Siboney volunteers for the Virgin Island Professional Charter Association, where she currently serves as President. She believes in giving back to the community and supporting local businesses. Siboney is also eco-conscious, ensuring that every product used during charters is earth-friendly, from sunscreen to body wash and paper products. Siboney is dedicated to providing a menu that is not only satisfying but also healthy and appealing to the most discerning palate. She has created amazing menus for pescatarian and kosher guests alike. Both Siboney and Tim enjoy spending time with children, and storytime with Captain Tim on the flybridge is always a treat.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time to charter a yacht in the British Virgin Islands?

The British Virgin Islands offer excellent sailing conditions year-round, but the most popular charter season runs from December through April, when the weather is warm, dry, and the trade winds are at their most reliable. May to July also offers fantastic cruising with fewer crowds, while late summer and autumn can provide exceptional value, although they coincide with the Caribbean hurricane season. We can help you choose the ideal time based on your priorities, whether that's perfect weather, quieter anchorages, or the best charter rates.

Can I start my yacht charter in St. Thomas and cruise to the British Virgin Islands?

Yes. Many crewed yachts offer embarkation in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, before cruising into the British Virgin Islands. This is often the most convenient option, as St. Thomas has significantly more direct international flights than Tortola. However, not every yacht is licensed to operate in both territories, so we'll recommend vessels that have the necessary permits and guide you through the straightforward customs and immigration process.

How do I get to my yacht charter in the British Virgin Islands?

Most international guests fly into Cyril E. King Airport (STT) in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, thanks to its frequent direct flights from major North American cities. From there, you can either take the public ferry to Tortola or arrange a private water taxi directly to your yacht. Alternatively, you can fly into Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport (EIS) on Tortola, although flight options are generally more limited. We'll coordinate your transfers to ensure a smooth arrival.

How far in advance should I book a British Virgin Islands yacht charter?

For the widest choice of yachts, we recommend booking between 6 and 12 months in advance, particularly if you're planning to travel during Christmas, New Year, spring break, or the peak winter season. The most sought-after crewed catamarans and luxury yachts are often reserved many months ahead, while last-minute availability can be limited. Early planning gives you access to the best yachts, itineraries, and pricing.

Do I need sailing experience for a crewed yacht charter in the British Virgin Islands?

Not at all. A crewed yacht charter is designed to be completely effortless. Your professional captain handles all navigation and route planning, while the chef and crew take care of every aspect of your experience, from gourmet dining to water sports and daily service. Whether it's your first yacht charter or your tenth, you can simply relax and enjoy the islands while your crew manages every detail.

Is a crewed catamaran or a motor yacht better for a British Virgin Islands charter?

For most guests, a luxury crewed catamaran is the ideal choice for exploring the British Virgin Islands. Their shallow draft allows them to anchor closer to secluded beaches and protected bays, while their wide beam provides generous outdoor living space, exceptional stability, and outstanding value for families and groups.A motor yacht is better suited to guests seeking higher speeds, greater onboard luxury, or the flexibility to venture beyond the British Virgin Islands to destinations such as the US Virgin Islands or St. Maarten. The right choice ultimately depends on your budget, group size, and the style of holiday you're looking for, and we're happy to help you compare the best options.
